# Connect HubSpot

Install Justwon in your HubSpot account, choose what it reads, and know how to disconnect and uninstall it.

## Before you start

- **In Justwon:** you must be an owner or an admin of the workspace. A HubSpot connection belongs to the whole workspace. See [Roles](https://justwon.ai/docs/get-started/roles).
- **In HubSpot:** you must be able to install apps in the HubSpot account you want to connect. HubSpot's rule is that the installer is a Super Admin, or has the Marketplace Access permission.
- **Where to start:** start in Justwon, not in HubSpot. Justwon has to begin the connection. A HubSpot install link on its own cannot finish a connection.

## Install and connect

The steps start on the **Available** tab of **Integrations**. Selecting HubSpot there opens the sheet **Connect HubSpot**. It says what Justwon reads first and that anything beyond reading is yours to allow after you connect.

1. Sign in to https://app.justwon.ai and open **Integrations**.
2. Open the **Available** tab, find **HubSpot** and select it. Its card says **Connect**.
3. Read the sheet **Connect HubSpot**. It says what Justwon reads first and that anything beyond reading is yours to allow after you connect.
4. Select **Connect HubSpot**. A HubSpot window opens.
5. Sign in to HubSpot if it asks. Choose the HubSpot account you want to connect.
6. HubSpot lists the access Justwon asks for. Read it, then approve it.
7. The window shows **Connected** and "You can close this window." Close it.

Justwon now opens the HubSpot connection on its **Configuration** tab. Nothing is read from HubSpot yet.

## Configure what Justwon reads

Justwon reads nothing from HubSpot until you finish this step. The **Configuration** tab of the connection is where you choose what Justwon may read and what it may do.

1. Under **What Justwon may read**, choose the kinds of record to read. HubSpot offers Companies, Contacts, Deals, Emails, Calls, Meetings and Notes.
2. Under **What Justwon may do**, tick the changes Justwon may propose in HubSpot, if you want any. None is ticked until you tick it. HubSpot offers three: **Add a note to a record**, **Create a task** and **Change the value of a field on a record**. A field change is limited to deals.
3. Select **Connect and sync**.

The first read covers companies, contacts, emails, calls, meetings and notes that were last modified in the last two years. Deals are read without that limit. After the first read, Justwon keeps reading on a schedule. You can change how often under **Read every** on the **Configuration** tab.

Ticking an action does not let Justwon act on its own. An action also has to be allowed under **Settings**, on the **Agents** tab, and a change in HubSpot that cannot be undone always waits for a person to approve it. See [what the agent does](https://justwon.ai/docs/how-it-works/what-the-agent-does).

## Use HubSpot data in Justwon

Justwon matches HubSpot companies to the accounts in your workspace and contacts to the people on them. Deals, their stages and close dates, and the emails, calls, meetings and notes logged in HubSpot become sources for the agents. HubSpot owners are matched to people in your workspace so Justwon can show who owns what.

To read again straight away, open the connection and select **Read now** on the **Overview** tab.

When an agent proposes a note, a task or a deal field change, you see it as a card with **Approve** and **Decline**. Justwon writes to HubSpot only after you approve. For a field change, Justwon reads the current value first and keeps it in the record of the action. Nothing puts the old value back automatically.

## Permissions

| Permission | What it is used for |
| --- | --- |
| Read companies · `crm.objects.companies.read` | Justwon reads companies from your HubSpot so it can resolve them into one picture of each customer account. It does not change them. |
| Read contacts · `crm.objects.contacts.read` | Justwon reads contacts from your HubSpot so it can resolve them into one picture of each customer account. It does not change them. |
| Read deals · `crm.objects.deals.read` | Justwon reads deals from your HubSpot so it can resolve them into one picture of each customer account. It does not change them. |
| Read owners · `crm.objects.owners.read` | Justwon reads HubSpot's list of owners so it can match the people on your customers' accounts to your own team, and show who owns what. |
| Change contacts · `crm.objects.contacts.write` | Justwon can create note and create task in your HubSpot, only when your team has approved it or has allowed that kind of action to run on its own. Each one is logged and shown to you with its sources. |
| Change deals · `crm.objects.deals.write` | Justwon can update deal field in your HubSpot, only when your team has approved it or has allowed that kind of action to run on its own. Each one is logged and shown to you with its sources. |

HubSpot shows these as its own wording, for example "create, delete, and modify deals". That is HubSpot's description of the permission. Justwon has no action that deletes anything in HubSpot. The permission that HubSpot names for notes and tasks is used only to create notes and tasks.

## Disconnect

1. Open **Integrations** and the **Connected** tab, and select the HubSpot connection.
2. Open the **Configuration** tab. Under **Disconnecting**, select the button for HubSpot.
3. Select **Disconnect** to confirm.

The sources it came from are closed, and are not shown or quoted again. After ten days Justwon removes the content it read from the tool; what Justwon worked out from it stays with the account. Reconnect within ten days to bring the sources back. Values filled in through field mappings are cleared, except a contract's dates. Nothing new comes in. What stays is the facts, scores and assessments, and the people and companies.

Justwon does not tell HubSpot that you disconnected. The app stays installed in your HubSpot account until you uninstall it there.

## Uninstall from HubSpot

1. In HubSpot, open the settings for your account and find the list of connected apps.
2. Select Justwon and uninstall it.

After you uninstall, Justwon can no longer reach your HubSpot account. To connect again later, follow the steps under **Install and connect**.

## If the connection does not finish

- **A message says to sign in to Justwon and start again from the same browser.** The HubSpot window could not find your Justwon sign-in. Sign in to Justwon in the browser you are using, then start again from **Integrations**.
- **HubSpot refuses the install.** The person installing needs the HubSpot permission described under Before you start.
- **A message says the connection could not be completed.** Try again. If it fails again, write to support@justwon.ai.
