# A connection is stuck or has stopped reading

Find out why a connection is not reading, from the state on its card to the fix, and how to reconnect without losing your setup.

## Start with the state on the card

Open **Integrations**. Each connection on the **Connected** tab shows its state on its card.

Find your state below.

| State | What it means | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Ready to set up | You connected, but setup is not finished. Justwon reads nothing yet. | Open the connection and finish setup on the **Configuration** tab. Choose what to read, then select **Connect and sync**. |
| Needs your review | A personal connection, such as a mailbox, shares what it keeps with your workspace, and the wording changed since you agreed. Reading is stopped until you have read it and agreed. | Open the connection and select **Share and continue**. |
| Reading | Justwon is reading now. The first read of a large account can take a long time. | Wait. You can close the page. Nothing needs doing. |
| Paused | Someone turned on **Pause reading**. Nothing new is read while it is on. What was already read stays. | Open the connection, go to the **Configuration** tab and turn **Pause reading** off. |
| Failing | The last read failed and Justwon will try again. See the messages below. | Read the message on the connection. Most clear by themselves. |
| Stopped | Reading has stopped and will not resume until the connection is signed in again. | Reconnect it, see below. |

## A connection that has stopped

The Integrations page shows a notice such as "1 connection has stopped reading", and names the reason. It adds: "Nothing new from it reaches an agent until it is reconnected."

The connection's own page says what happened:

| What the connection says | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| The credential expired. Nothing has been read since. Reconnecting keeps the configuration and the mapping. | The sign-in Justwon holds ran out. Reconnect it. |
| Access was withdrawn where it was granted. Nothing new arrives until somebody signs it back in. | Someone removed Justwon in the other tool, or changed the account's password or permissions. Sign it in again. |
| This connection is missing permissions it was granted before, so part of what it used to read is now out of reach. | Reconnect it and accept the access Justwon asks for. |
| Sign-in is needed again. Nothing has been read since. | Sign it in again. |

### Reconnect

1. Open **Integrations** and select the connection.
2. Select the button that starts with **Reconnect**, for example **Reconnect HubSpot**. The other tool's sign-in opens. Sign in and approve the access.

Reconnecting keeps the connection's configuration, its mapping and everything already read. You do not set it up again.

An owner or an admin reconnects a team-wide connection. A personal connection, such as a mailbox, is reconnected by the person who made it.

A connection that uses a service account cannot be reconnected from the sheet. Disconnect it and connect it again with a new credential.

## When the last read failed

| What Justwon says | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| The provider is limiting requests, so reading will resume on its own. | The other tool slowed Justwon down. Wait. |
| Justwon could not reach the provider, and will keep trying. | The other tool was not answering. Wait. |
| The last read did not finish in time, and will be retried. | A large read took too long. Wait for the retry. |
| Justwon does not have permission to read this account. Reconnect it and accept the requested access. | Reconnect and approve every permission Justwon asks for. |
| The connection was refused and needs to be reconnected. | Reconnect it. |

To read again now instead of waiting, open the connection and select **Read now** on the **Overview** tab.

## The sign-in window does not finish

- **The connection did not complete, and the message says to sign in to Justwon and start again from the same browser.** The sign-in window could not find your Justwon sign-in. Sign in to Justwon in the browser you are using, then start again from **Integrations**.
- **The message says that the connection could not be completed.** Try once more. If it fails again, write to support@justwon.ai and say which tool you were connecting.
- **"That sign-in is for a different account than the one this connection reads. Disconnect this connection first, then connect the other account."** You signed in to another account than the one the connection was made with. Either sign in to the account the connection reads, or follow the message.
- **The window closes and nothing seems to happen.** Check that your browser did not block the pop-up window, then try again.

## A database connection is refused

Justwon shows one fixed sentence for each way a database can refuse. See the table in [Connect your database](https://justwon.ai/docs/connect/database).

## Get told when a connection stops

Under **Settings**, on the **Notifications** tab, **An integration stopped reading** sends an email to the people you choose when a connection fails and nothing new is coming in from it. The person who connected it is told as well, unless they paused all notifications.

## Still stuck

Write to support@justwon.ai. Say which tool, what you see on the connection, and the time you tried.
